Spitfire -Vb AV*D EN853, 335th FS, 4th FG, 8th USAAF. Debden, Sept 1942.

This bird is interesting, It was flown by Col. Chesley Peterson, at 24 years old, the youngest ever full Colonel in US military history.
Prior to being integrated with the US 8th AF, this plane, and the rest of the squadron, had been one of the 'Eagle Squadrons', US airmen who had volunteered to fly and fight for the RAF.

Having been equipped with Hurricanes and then Spitfires with the RAF, they were able to keep their beloved SpitVb's untill they were replaced by P47's, a fact which met with a great deal of opposition, apparently.
The fortunes of the 335th went downward for a period after the transition, never really regaining form untill they received P51's later.

This aircraft has been made on the hi rez 3dz files developed by Col. Gibbon.
It's skin has been made on a computer that uses a glide mode card, and it works there, I'm not sure of the TNT/Gforce based cards, but I have no reports of problems so far.

Enjoy
